MY HUSBAND and I recently spent 30 glorious days in Great Britain and Ireland. While in Ireland I unfortunately broke my arm and because of that I had to turn the driving over to my husband who has not driven in five years!

On October 12 we checked into the Burleigh Mead Bed and Breakfast at The Heads in Keswick. On October 13 we decided to go to the Car Museum and on the way there we had a flat tire in the middle of nowhere.

Having no phones nor having no idea where we were we walked to the nearest farm house for help. I told the lady of the house that we broke down and asked if would help us. She invited us in – having no idea who we were – offered us a cup of tea and offered to call Enterprise Car Rental for us.

She explained that her husband, daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend were out walking their dog. The daughter had just arrived from London that day. When the trio returned back to the house the husband, whose name is John (I think the wife’s name is Elaine), said they were just about to celebrate their daughter getting sales person of the month award at the publishing company she worked for in London and would we join them in a glass of champagne?

They also mentioned that they had another daughter that either lived in New Zealand or Australia who works in the medical field. Unfortunately in all of our haste we did not got these kind people’s address or email address.

My husband and I are so grateful for their kindness it is hard to put into words. I hope that someone will read this editorial and recognise them and put us in touch with one another – it would truly be a wonderful Christmas gift for us.
