The legitimacy of the Brexit referendum will be argued over for years, but it's quite clear that with 11 Northern Ireland MPs holding the government hostage, the discussions over the terms – the so called 'deal' – have descended into a chaotic and expensive farce.
The government should bring in an emergency bill that puts the whole project 'on hold' for a year while everyone calms down and takes stock of the situation.
