A NEW home is need for Lake District 'model family'.
The family of three manikins is no longer needed for first-aid training purposes by Ambleside-based MedSkills Academy who have upgraded to high-tech versions.
The ones they have been using to teach resuscitation are now available – for a school, charity or voluntary group.
“We would be very pleased to see ‘Little Anne’ and her folks being used elsewhere,” said director Nick Wright.
“They have been invaluable in our first-aid training. But we have invested in a new generation with built-in computers which provide instant feedback for learners. We know that this will improve our CPR training.”
The manikins are designed to be as lifelike as possible, says Nick, a trained paramedic. The new ones have been provided by the research and development experts Laerdal, who continuously refine products and services to help organisations like MedSkills have a big impact on helping to save lives.
MedSkills Academy is dedicated to improving and delivering first aid and medical education. They have over 10 years’ experience as a company providing services to a wide audience. Clients range from individuals through to NHS Ambulance Trusts.
Any organisation which might be able to use the old manikins should email. For more information see http://www.medskillsacademy.co.uk.
