PEOPLE struggling to afford to heat their homes this winter are being given £500,000 by Lancashire County Council.
It is hoped the money - part of the Green Energy Fund - will reduce deaths and cut carbon emissions.
Funding is being provided to district councils so they can target the residents at greatest risk of health problems from living in a cold property. Some 740 people were helped last year.
