WAYS of protecting an 'orchid triangle' at Sandside will be explored by Beetham Parish Council when it meets on Monday (January 8).
The small patch of roadside verge is home to a number of "quite rare and important" flowers, parish clerk John Scargill told the Gazette. The orchids are in danger of damage from passers-by and parked cars. The meeting is to take place at Beetham School, starting at 7pm.
