THE M6 southbound reopened at 9pm last night after a lorry overturned between junctions 37 and 36 - leading to long delays on diversion routes.
Police were called at 11.11am to reports that a wagon had overturned on the southbound carriageway, south of Killington services.
The road was closed for nearly ten hours between junction 39 and junction 36.
There were long delays on the diversion route, which takes drivers off the M6 at J39 (Shap), down the A6 through Kendal and back onto the motorway at J36.
