POLICE are appealing for information following the report of a sexual assault.
The alleged assault occurred in Wilson Park, Broughton-in-Furness, near to the Square, following the town’s annual New Year's firework display.
An 18-year-old male, from Ambleside, was arrested on suspicion of rape. He has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
Police are keen to speak with the owner of a drone, which flew over the square at around midnight, on New Year's day, filming the fireworks display.
