Mr Cockerham had not been seen since travelling to Cumbria on Sunday (January 14) to climb Scafell Pike.
Mountain Rescue teams lead on the search and Mr Cockerham was located in the Scafell Pike area, heading towards Eskdale.
He had suffered some injuries, believed to have been from a fall, but is expected to make a full recovery.
He was taken by air ambulance to Furness General to be checked over.
Those involved in the search would like to thank the public and the media for their help sharing the appeal.
