This year The Westmorland Gazette is celebrating its 200th anniversary with a host of events and publications.
Donald Wroe, of Bouth, contacted the newspaper after reading of the plans.
He said: "I have been editing the Colton Parish News for more than 20 years and have several copies from the beginning of the 20th Century.
"I was interested in the article about the Gazette celebrating its 200th anniversary. I have a few copies of our magazine with an advertisement for The Westmorland Gazette on the front cover, the earliest (pictured) being March 1919."
