TWO million pounds is being earmarked for fixing potholes on Lancashire's roads, Carnforth Town Council heard.
Cllr Phillippa Williamson, Lancashire county councillor for Lancaster Rural North, said pothole-mending machines were being obtained that could fill up to 200 holes a day in good weather.
She told a meeting of Carnforth Town Council that £3 million was also being allocated to resurface residential roads.
Parishes and towns had expressed concerns at the condition of Lancashire's roads, she said, and they were "a mess due a lack of investment over a number of years".
Cllr Williamson also discussed speeding on the A6 road between Carnforth and the Cumbria border; and she said the puffin crossing planned for Kellet Road is scheduled to be built at Easter.
The crossing has been long awaited by nearby residents.
