A YELLOW weather warning for snow and ice across Cumbria has been issued by the Met Office.
The warning comes into effect from 10pm on Thursday (February 8) until midday on Friday (February 9) and is the second warning this week.
Following a spell of rain, sleet and hill snow, temperatures are expected to fall quickly allowing ice to form on untreated pavements, cycle paths and roads.
Heavy snow showers will follow and the Met Office has warned that some injuries from slips and accidents on icy surfaces are possible.
Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
