AN INVITATION to be "inspired" by exciting new technology for schools is going out to teachers across Cumbria.

Hannah Croskery, deputy head of Dalton-in-Furness St Mary's CE Primary School, has arranged several events designed to showcase cutting-edge innovations in the classroom.

The first Cumbria ICT Leadership Roadshow is to take place at four locations, including Kendal's Castle Green Hotel on Thursday, February 22; and Rheged, Penrith, on Wednesday, February 28 - both 12.30-4pm. The workshops with free buffet lunch are aimed at school heads and senior leaders.

Mrs Croskery has also organised the IMET Exhibition 2018 - Innovate, Motivate, Educate through Technology - for school staff to find out about new "ed tech" from different companies. The two venues are Abbey House Hotel, Barrow-in-Furness, on March 13; and North Lakes Hotel, Penrith, on March 14 - both 10am-3pm.

For bookings, email h.croskery@dsmprimary.com or call 01229-462729.

Dalton St Mary's School is the Cumbria Regional Training Centre for Apple, and offers training and support using iPads and Apple technology, said Mrs Croskery, and its governor meetings are now completely paperless.
