A GLOBAL event to promote fellowship between people of different faiths was celebrated in Milnthorpe.
Retired Roman Catholic priest Monsignor Francis Slattery held a multifaith event at Milnthorpe Presbytery to celebrate World Interfaith Harmony Week 2018. Mgr Slattery has worked for many years to increase understanding between worshippers of different religions.
The call for a worldwide week of harmony between faiths was first proposed by HM King Abdullah II of Jordan in 2010 at the United Nations General Assembly. The yearly celebration aims to highlight how common values "far outweigh the differences" between faiths.
