PLANS for four townhouses beside Ulverston Canal met with approval from South Lakeland District Council.
The three-storey dwellings, to be built on an "untidy" and derelict brownfield site where the Canal Tavern once stood, prompted an objection from Ulverston Town Council. It said the plot should be part of a wider masterplan for the waterway. Ulverston Civic Society also raised concerns.
However, SLDC gave the go-ahead to the plans, by applicant Moorsolve Pension Scheme, of Barrow-in-Furness.
