AS A fell walker of many years experience in the Lake District, including Thirlmere, I am absolutely appalled at the thought of zip wires criss-crossing the lake.
They would be totally out of keeping with the whole meaning of the words 'Lake District National Park'.
Thirlmere offers peace and tranquillity bar none; so very beautiful and peaceful.
This application to pass zip wires over the lake would totally destroy all the Lake District stands for, and all in the furtherance of profit for the chosen few, yet destroying the joy for countless others.
Treetop Trek's application should be refused absolutely. Its success would be pure vandalism for Thirlmere.
