LAKE District hoteliers and their guests boosted a cancer charity by more than £1,000.
Jonathan and Caroline Kaye, owners of Cedar Manor Hotel, at Windermere, made Rosemere Cancer Foundation its charity of the year for 2017, thanks to a suggestion from hotel regulars David and Dorothy Hill, of Bowness.
Jonathan raised £850 by completing the Great North Run, and customer donations raised the grand total to £1,011.74.
Jonathan said: "David and Dorothy have become friends and they recommended Rosemere to us.
"As well as my run, we raised funds through our new year raffle in both 2017 and this year, which gives guests staying with us for the celebration a chance to win a free weekend break, plus we had a collection tin, which is going to stay on our reception desk."
Rosemere brings world-class cancer treatment to patients from South Lakeland and Lancashire at eight local hospitals, as well as Preston's Rosemere Cancer Centre. For more, visit www.rosemere.org.uk
