A KENDAL pub has brewed up a new look after a six-figure refurbishment.

The renovation of The White Hart was carried out to modernise the pub, creating a more warm and welcoming atmosphere during the day, while maintaining its reputation as a lively and popular night venue during the weekends.

Between both Robinsons Brewery and the licensees at the pub, a combined amount of over £100,000 was spent.

Helen and Wayne Chorley have been licensees at the White Hart for 17 years but have worked at the pub since 1976 when Helen’s parents first ran it.

Helen explained: “Our pub has been in the family for over 40 years, so it was really important that we delivered a refurbishment that showed how the pub has changed and moved with the times.

"The White Hart has now been brought up to date and has been transformed into a unique local that caters for all ages. The new look has proven to be popular with the whole community, as we’re attracting a diverse range of new customers whilst retaining our loyal regulars. We’ve been at this pub for such a long time, and we are so proud to be a part of its continued progression.”

The pub has undergone a complete transformation now offering a more expansive, relaxed environment with the addition of innovative neon flower feature wallpaper and new indoor and outdoor lighting.

Steve Robinson, business development manager at Robinsons Brewery, said: “The pub is based in a great location in the heart of Kendal and has lots to offer to the community; including a more spacious environment, perfect for old and new customers to relax whilst enjoying delicious food and drinks.”

The bar has been repositioned further back and features galvanized panel fronts, forming a roomier area, that is better designed for speed of service.

The revamp has also seen an upgraded external drinking area, designed to attract a wider range of customers throughout the day to try the pub's new food and drink offering, including an enhanced premium spirits and wines collection as well as some new continental lagers.
