AFTER successive second-placed finishes, Helm Hill runner Tom Addison took his first Kendal Winter League victory of the season at Cunswick Scar on Sunday.

Addison finished in 30:20 to finish more than half a minute clear of his teammate Michael Ainsworth in second.

Ambleside's Jon Rylance finished in third and as first MV40, while first MU21 was Rossendale's Benjamin Forrest in fourth overall. First MV50 went to Helm Hill's Rick Stewart, with teammate Brian Thompson finishing as first MV60.

Helm Hill runners dominated the top order of the ladies' race, with Kelli Roberts finishing quicker than the rest with a time of 35:26.

Jenny Rice in second and quickest LU21 Imogen Burrow rounded off the top three.

Bianca Dyer in fifth overall was first LV40 while Settle's Carol Evans was first LV50.

Chloe Rylance was first girl in the U17 race, finishing well clear of Helm Hill pair Maia Doherty and Lottie Beardwood in second and third respectively.

Lancaster and Morecambe runner Matthew Knowles finished as first boy.

Ambleside took top spot in both boys and girls fields in the U15 race, with James Bowen and Sophie Rylance coming out on top, while Helm Hill pair Sarah Smith and Oliver Smith enjoyed similar success in the U13 race.
