The old Gazette archive photographs published on your website each day by yourselves to commemorate the 200th anniversary are most welcome and I particularly admired the one showing Bowness at spring bank holiday in 1975.
For me this iconic view from a time when I lived in or near Bowness encapsulates a near hypnotic appeal that the lake holds for the masses. It even moves me to some uncommon flowery scribble:
"The daily muddle of bright summer fashions, expectant swans, jousting vendors and newly bought rain proofs is best seen from t'other side of road....."
A tame attempt, but if you are minded to ever produce another calendar then I certainly think this view is a cover candidate. Buyers can make up their own captions!
