TWO fundraising events have given a big boost to the coffers of Kendal's Manna House, which provides support for those who are homeless, vulnerably housed, lonely or needing help.
A selection of volunteers, staff and supporters took part in the Friends of Manna House Big Swim at Kendal Leisure Centre, which raised £4,000 towards soundproofing the Stephenson Centre on Ann Street, which will be Manna House’s new home from this summer.
And a cake sale held by Year 6 pupils at St Mark's School at Natland, in aid of Kendal Winter Shelter, raised more than £100.
Cllr Stephen Coleman has also donated £340 from his budget for this year which means Manna House can buy 22 camp beds to make guests a little more comfortable at next year’s shelter.
