A SPECIAL afternoon tea with a regional twist is now being served at a Kirkby Lonsdale hotel.

Some of the most delicious recipes originating from Cumbria, Lancashire and Yorkshire feature in The Royal Hotel's 'Three Counties' menu.

Lancashire curd tart, Yorkshire rhubarb turnover and Cumberland sausage rolls are just some of the delicacies that feature in the new offering.

The Royal’s general manager, Damian Atkins said: “Here in Kirkby Lonsdale we can truly be inspired by the dishes found in Cumbria, Lancashire and North Yorkshire as the county boundaries are within a couple of miles of the hotel.

“There are so many regional recipes to choose from, our chefs are taking inspiration for sweet and savoury delicacies from a selection of delicious local traditions.

“The fact we are on the cusp of three of the country’s most scenic counties isn’t just an added culinary bonus for our guests but also puts them on the doorstep of a host of amazing places to see during their stay.”

The Royal Hotel uses ingredients sourced from the North West and Yorkshire by suppliers based within an hour and a half’s drive from Kirkby Lonsdale, meaning the new afternoon tea is truly tied in with the counties that it is representing.

The Three Counties afternoon tea costs £27 for two or £13.50 for a single diner.
