A BARBERSHOP trio brushed up £400 for charity with a day of free haircuts.

Windermere's The Original Barber salon welcomed a steady stream of customers who gave donations to Prostate Cancer UK in exchange for a trim from Matthew Rigg and Liam Esty.

"The boys were brilliant and stood cutting hair all day," said Ian Lambert, who co-owns the business.

"We even had a guest barber, Simon Johnson, who came from Plymouth to give his time."

Ian thanked Crescent Road neighbours Huddlestons Butchers for supplying free sausage rolls, and the ladies of Crescent Cards for inflating charity balloons.

"It is amazing in these times how generous people can be," added Ian. "We even had people coming in not wanting haircuts but just to say hi and donate."

The Original Barber is open six days a week with no need to book.
