A BROKEN valve is causing water to spurt 100ft into the air in Milnthorpe.
A spokesperson for United Utilities said the water company was called today to reports of a leak on the road from Milnthorpe to Sandside near Dallam Tower Bridge.
But it broke as the company was investigating.

"It's a bit of a headache now, we can't just turn it off or it could cut off supplies to local homes," said the spokesperson.
"So we're planning how we can isolate the valve and get it fixed without turning off everyone's water. We'll get it fixed as soon as we can."
