WORK is to start this summer on 76 new homes in the north Lancashire village of Halton.

Story Homes has been granted planning consent from Lancaster City Council to develop a plot of land off Low Road. The new estate, Halton Grange, will feature three, four and five-bedroom terraced, semi-detached and detached houses.

Story Homes says the properties have been designed to reflect local housing needs and architectural styles. The company is to give around £300,000 towards creating extra primary school places, plus £16,000 to improve the playing field at Halton Community Centre.

Highway safety is to be improved on Low Road, and new paths will be created between the village and the River Lune. Local subcontractors and suppliers will be used where possible to support the area’s economy, and Story Homes hopes the first homes will be ready in spring 2019. For more, visit www.storyhomes.co.uk
