STAFF at an animal charity are hoping to find a new home from the Lake District for one-year-old Max.
Max arrived at Warrington Animal Welfare in August as an eight-month-old pup after his owners became too ill to care for him.
He has now spent Christmas, his birthday and Easter in their care.
Max is a firm favourite with staff at the charity but they are now keen to find the 5ft tall Akita Labrador crossbreed a home with experience with large dogs.
Caroline Tebbs, centre manager, said: “We all love Max, he is a big, fun goofball but he has spent too much time in rescue now and desperately needs a forever home.
"No puppy should spend eight months of their 16-month life in kennels.
"He is missing out on so much.
"We do our best to give him lots of experiences and affection but it is no replacement for a loving home and family."
While he gets along well with other dogs, Max is full of energy and can be a bit clumsy, so he would be happiest with a family with no other pets.
Ideally he would like a home with lots of space to run around.
