A DIVER from Lancashire has died after getting into difficulty at Wastwater.
Emergency services were called to the Wasdale lake on Saturday (April 21).
The diver, a man in his 60's, was pulled from the water but unfortunately died.
The next of kin of the man have been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team said: "Team called this morning for a diver who had got into difficulties in Wast Water.
"The diver was brought to the surface by other divers and then taken to the lake shore in the teams boat.
"A large multi-agency group had assembled on the lake shore including ambulance and air ambulance crews from both NWAA and GNAA, Cumbria Fire & Rescue, Police and Coastguard and extensive efforts were made to revive the diver but unfortunately they were unsuccessful. Our thoughts are with the divers family and friends."
