NIGHT-time resurfacing work will start on the A6 Shap Road, Kendal, on Monday.
Cumbria County Council contractors will carry out the work at the junction with Mintsfeet Road, outside normal working hours, in order to minimise disruption to traffic flow in the town and business operations.
The section of road will be closed for five evenings between 6.30pm and 12.30am from Monday to Friday.
A signed diversion will be in place via the A685 Appleby Road and Queen Katherine Avenue.
Access for residents and businesses will be maintained as far as possible throughout the works. Traffic marshals will be on site to assist with local access.
The resurfacing and road marking work is being carried out to facilitate the operation of new traffic lights at the junction of Mintsfeet Road.
