FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze in a house in a Lake District village last night (Tuesday).
Crews from Coniston and Ambleside were called to the home at Elterwater around 11pm.
Firefighters discovered that the roofspace of the single-storey property was well alight.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to fight the fire.
A main jet was also used.
Firefighters wore safety equipment to access the roofspace before removing roof tiles and plasterboard to identify hotspots.
The fire spread through a void in a wall. Firefighters extinguished the fire and removed the wall.
They were in attendance for around three-and-a-half hours.
