A CHARITY-inspired FA Cup tour is to reach its conclusion for four South Lakeland men on Saturday evening as the final of the world-famous competition is contested at Wembley.

Craig Campbell, John Wharton and Alan Robinson, all of Kendal, and Holme's Paul Hine, have be to a game during every round of this year's competition and raise funds for the Bradley Lowery Foundation.

Their journey through the rounds has seen visit the home grounds of Penrith, Whitley Bay, Newcastle Benfield, Kidderminster Harriers, AFC Fylde, AFC Bournemouth, Wigan Athletic.

They have already made one trip to Wembley for the semi-final between Southampton and Chelsea, and will return for the final this weekend.

Their efforts so far, through bucket collections, a quiz night and online donation has raised nearly £3,000 for the Bradley Lowery Foundation.

"We've really enjoyed it and it's been a great journey," said Mr Campbell.

"It will contribute to helping other children who've got similar illnesses to Bradley Lowery and hopefully go towards research."

Bradley Lowery was an inspirational six-year-old boy from the North East who suffered from terminal childhood cancer, neuroblastoma. He lost his battle with the illness last July.

The group got tickets for the final between Manchester United and Chelsea with help from the Westmorland FA and Lancaster City FC and are looking forward to heading to London for the game.

"Being a Liverpool fan I just don't want United to win," said Mr Campbell. "But it's not really about the result we're just hoping for a good match to sign off with."
