Kendal residents vote against return to free parking on New Road
KENDAL residents have decided that they do not want South Lakeland District Council to amend a by-law which would allow free parking back on New Road's Common Land.
Voters in yesterday's parish poll were asked: 'Do you want SLDC to change/create/amend a by-law to enable free parking on New Road Common Land?'
1,060 people voted 'no' to the question in comparison to the 437 that voted 'yes'.
The turnout to the poll, which was a non-binding vote, was 6.62 per cent.
