A KENDAL photographer who is 'passionate about body positivity' will take part in the final of the Miss British Isles Elegance 2018 model competition on Monday (May 28).

Rebecca Deighton, 30, is a curve model and will be representing Cumbria in the battle for the title.

Miss British Isles Elegance is a national modelling competition, open to women aged between 28 and 50 and is run with the modelling industry watching dog ALBA.

Thousands entered the competition and the main prize for the winner is £2,000, including a modelling and promotional contract.

"I’m so excited to be competing in the national final and very proud to be representing my beautiful home county of Cumbria," she said. "I’m extremely passionate about body positivity and hope the competition will give me a good platform to help other women and girls feel confident in themselves."

Rebecca's hobbies include horse riding, cycling, weight training, yoga, drama and music.

At the national final Rebecca will be up against other finalists from across The British Isles including Ireland, Scotland, Wales and all across England.

Rebecca will be required to take part in a catwalk show in front of the judges and the winner is announced on the day.

Previous winners of Miss British Isles organised events have gone on to be signed by top modelling agencies, take part in TV shows and even appear in a Bollywood film.
