A TRIBUTE to the life of a treasured member of the community will take place this weekend at The Folly at Settle.

Veronica Caperon, who died just before Christmas was a professional photographer, publicity consultant and multi talented woman who touched the lives of many people and organisations in the area.

An exhibition of her work will take place in the Folly Parlour on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3.

Veronica moved to Lawkland in 2009 with her husband, Richard, and daughter, Lizzie, and over the next eight years helped to enrich the area.

She helped set up Settle Sessions, wrote scripts and directed shows for Austwick Players, and formed the Lippy Logic comedy duo with her friend, Christine Hooley.

Together, they performed up and down the country, delighting audiences with their own wry brand of humour and sometimes poignant insights into daily life.

She organised photo walks and workshops throughout North Craven and Bowland, inspiring others to learn and improve their skills.

Veronica was also a founder member of North Craven Strollers and in 2016 was recognised by the Ramblers for her contribution to the Walking for Health movement.

She was a parish clerk for Lawkland and Eldroth, became involved in the B4RN Hyperfast Broadband project and was instrumental in getting together a group of residents to digitalise the historic archives of Lawkland. She was also a dedicated and committed member of Eldroth Church, writing and producing nativity plays.

All the main groups with which Veronica was associated with have contributed to the exhibition in The Folly parlour, which will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be short poetry readings, including some written by Veronica, at 11.30am and at 2.30pm.
