KENDAL Town Football Club's pre-season plans are beginning to shape as the club looks to prepare for the 2018/19 season.

Three fixtures have already been pencilled in for the Mintcakes, with the first being the visit of Blackburn Rovers under23s at the ST&B Accountants Stadium on Tuesday July 31.

The Rovers Under23s Premier League Division Two last season, and they are managed by former Eawood Park favourite Damien Johnson.

The match kicks off at 7:45pm.

Manager David Foster also has two more home games, both of which are scheduled for early August.

On August 4, Bamber Bridge FC will visit Parkside road for a 3pm kick off, and on August 11, Marine FC are the opponents, again with a 3pm start. More friendly fixtures are to be announced by the club in the coming weeks.

The Mintcakes finished 18th out of 22 in the EVO-STIK North division last season.

The Parkside Road Team will be playing in the newly restructured Northern Premier League West Division when the season kicks off on Saturday 18 August

Kendal will compete against new teams such as Runcorn Linnets’ and Widnes who were promoted from the North West Counties Premier Division, while they will also play Newcastle Town, Leek Town and Market Drayton Town who have joined from the Evo Stix Division One South League.

Other teams in the division include, Atherton Colleries, Brighouse Town, Clitheroe,Colne,Colwyn Bay,Droylsden,Glossop North End, Prescot Cables, Radcliffe Borough Ramsbottom United, Skelmersdale United, Trafford and Widnes.

The newly restructured league will will comprise 20 Teams (previously 22) with 38 league games played (previously 42)

Meanwhile The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League have confirmed that the 2018/19 fixtures will be released on Thursday 12 July from 10am.

Off the pitch Paul Dawson has left Kendal Town and signed for Bamber Bridge who were promoted into the Evo Stik Premier Division at the end of last season.
