SEDBERGH School sixth former Tabitha Holdsworth is taking on the Boddy Challenge - a 10km swim on Windermere, the Windermere Marathon (42km) and then a 30 mile cycle back to Sedbergh - today (Thursday).
She is raising money for the British Heart Foundation and the Stroke Association, which fund lifesaving research into their respective diseases.
"Sport plays a huge part in my life and I am always looking to push myself and to take on new challenges," she said.
"Both charities are very dear to me as members of my close family have been affected by both. I am honoured to be completing my challenge to help them."
The epic challenge was created and completed by Old Sedberghian Imogen Boddy who raised £8,000 for her chosen charities in 2017.
The Boddy Challenge will be an annual event attempted by a Sedbergh School pupil.
