TWO young sisters will be stepping out to raise cash for Settle swimming pool - by striding up the highest peak in England and Wales

Georgia and Sienna Bousfield-Evans, of Giggleswick, are just four- and three-years old, but are already veterans of fundraising walking challenges.

And they will be taking on the Welsh mountain of Snowdon - in the company of parents Jenny Bousfield and Mark Evans - on August 17 to raise cash for the pool, where Georgia has swimming lessons.

Proud mum Jenny explained: “I got really into walking just after Georgia was born. I got a baby carrier and off we went, every day with our dog Jackson.

"Georgia was six weeks old when she first went up Penyghent. When Georgia was around two we started to go further on foot. At this time I had Sienna in the baby carrier and every week we just went a little further and a little further. Her first ‘big’ walks were Malham Cove, Ingleton Waterfall Trail, Attermire Scar, Victoria Cave and Top Withens.

"When I felt confident she could do it Georgia first climbed Penyghent aged two years, 11 months Her longest walk to date has been 10 miles.

“Sienna is following in Georgia’s footsteps and she also climbed Penyghent aged Two years 11 months. She is currently walking up to six miles.

“They both really enjoy it and want to go. They make games and sing all the way and love to see Jackson enjoying himself.”

Both girls go go to Chipmonks Day Nursery in Giggleswick and ‘early years’ at Giggleswick Junior School. Georgia will start Giggleswick Primary School in September.

Jenny, who works at Booth’s supermarket in Settle, said that Georgia’s first fundraising challenge had been climbing Ingleborough in October last year, when she raised £1,056 for Children In Need.

The family is also holding a bake sale at Booths in Settle on Saturday, August 4. There is a donation bucket in Booths and our fundraising page is https://mydonate.bt.com//fundraisers/georgiasienna
