I BELIEVE I have the complete solution to the Lakes Line debacle.
Northern Rail should be sacked immediately and the concession granted to the Bowness Noddy train to run an infinitely more reliable shuttle service between Oxenholme and Windermere.
I am sure our MP, who recently posed looking appropriately glum on the deserted platform, would not fight shy of the additional publicity of returning to the same spot to wave off the first run of the new venture.
