RAIL passengers are experiencing delays today (Monday) following the attempted theft of signalling cables between Lancaster and Oxenholme.
There are delays of up to 15 minutes and some cancellations on Transpennine Express between Preston and Carlisle. Tickets being accepted on CrossCountry, London North Eastern, Northern, ScotRail and Virgin Train services.
And there are delays of up to 15 minutes on Virgin Trains West Coast between Preston and Carlisle.
Trains are now able to run through Lancaster but with delays and some services may still be cancelled.
There is a replacement bus service running on Northern between Lancaster and Morecambe and between Lancaster and Carnforth and service is suspended between Lancaster and Oxenholme.
