THE former NatWest Bank in Grange-over-Sands, which closed in October last year, has been put up for auction with a guide price of £125,000.

The bank will feature in the next Pugh property auction in Manchester on July 19, along with a number of former high street banks.

Paul Thompson, managing director of Pugh auction house, said: “This is an unusual property and it is in an excellent location in the centre of Grange-over-Sands.

“We have seen a number of former bank premises coming to auction in recent months. With the rise of digital services our banking clients are reviewing their property portfolios and assessing requirements for the future.

“Many former banks are impressive, historic buildings in town centre locations, with great potential for redevelopment. We look set to see more such properties being offered for sale at our auctions over the coming months.”
