A GROUP of children from Belarus enjoyed a visit to Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale last Wednesday (July 4).

The Rotary Club of Lunesdale entertained the group of 12 children, aged 7-10 years, who were on a month's visit to the UK.

The children have been brought to the UK by the charity The Friends of Chernobyl's Children.

Some Rotary Club members met the youngsters at Kendal Climbing Wall and they enjoyed an active and adventurous session.

They then had lunch in Kirkby Lonsdale followed by a walk through the town to Devil's Bridge on the River Lune.

The children paddled in the water to cool off and ice cream cornets were eaten on the walk back to the town.
