Cumbria Police were called early on Saturday morning after a man suffered a serious injury caused by a blade.
North West Ambulance Service alerted the police at 1.30am on July 14 to a man who suffered a wound to his ankle.
The injury is believed to have been caused by a knife or other bladed article.
The injured man – in his 40s and from the Kendal area – was taken to hospital following the incident.
Anyone who witnessed any part of this incident or who has any information which would assist officers in their investigation is urged to contact police referencing incident 17 of 14 July 2018.
