JANET Eglin, standard bearer of Ulverston Royal British Legion, is hoping Gazette readers can help her find out more about three soldiers named on the town's war memorial.
As reported by the Gazette, Mrs Eglin is taking part in the recreation of the Great Pilgrimage of 1928 this August, when war widows and veterans marched to the Menin Gate Memorial in Belgium, and visited the battlefields of the Somme and Ypres Salient.
She plans to place a small wooden cross on the graves of Ulverston's fallen at the cemeteries she and husband Anthony visit.
Mrs Eglin is still seeking more information about John William Bell, Harry Snaith and George Waring so that she can try to locate their graves.
If you can help, email Mrs Eglin on janet.c.1@hotmail.com, or fill out a form at Ulverston Royal British Legion on Brogden Street.
