MY BLUE bird bath was stolen from my front garden while I was away on holiday.
I moved to Arnside from Manchester after living for 34 years in the city. I am from Liverpool originally, so know a good deal about street life, crime and trust or lack of it.
I can’t explain my disappointment and broken trust after my ceramic blue bird bath was taken from my front garden while I was away on holiday.
Minor I know, petty some would say, but to me it’s not the fact that the bird bath went, it’s the fact that it was taken in Arnside, a place I have grown to love because of its friendliness and honesty and trust because of my lack of faith in humankind after all those years in the city.
Arnside, I am ashamed at you, upset by this and really feel dismayed and broken hearted that the place I loved has so let me down.
My faith has gone. I might as well be in Liverpool or Manchester if this sort of petty crime is becoming prevalent.
