POLICE are investigating an incident where a sheep and her lamb were brutally killed in Selside.
The severed head of the lamb was found in a garden in the village on the morning of July 27, and it is believed that the killing took place during the night before.
In a post on the Eden Country Watch Facebook group, one member of the community said it looked like the lamb’s head had been cut off with a knife.
The poster said they believed that the head had been thrown into the garden from the A6.
The sheep’s body was found dead a few miles away on a back road between High Borrowbridge and Hollowgate.
It reportedly looks like she has been run over, her horns had been pulled off and she was covered in oil. Her ear tag had been removed.
The lamb’s body has not yet been found. Contact police on 101 with information.
