A FULL room "of eager bidders and onlookers" saw a parcel of land sell for a final bid of £119,000.
The "attractive" block of 5.56 acres of productive pasture and meadow land was formerly part of Capplerigg Farm, New Hutton.
Lying three miles east of Kendal, off the A684 road to Sedbergh, the site included a timber-framed agricultural building and a good natural water supply
Auctioneers and valuers NWA Property offered the land for sale by auction at J36 Rural Auction Centre, Crooklands. The final bid equated to £21,400 per acre.
After the sale, auctioneer Matthew Probert said NWA Property had recently seen a high level of enquiries for parcels of land of all sizes and types. He said all lots recently offered had sold well and "often above expectations".
The company offers no-obligation appraisals of land and property; call 015395-66222 or visit www.nwauctions.co.uk.
