My grandson Charlie has attended Brantfield Nursery School at Kendal for some considerable time and left at the end of last week.
This school is absolutely superlative in every conceivable respect and is worthy of the highest praise.
Charlie has composed a poem – well, actually I wrote it for him – which was presented in a frame to the staff at Brantfield last week.
Ode to Brantfield Nursery School
Welcome to Brantfield Nursery, and browse this poem awhile
Where children and their parents are welcomed with a smile
This nursery is superlative in every single way
The children here are happy, both at their work and play
And knowledge is inculcated, with kindness and concern
And this is why the pupils are so very keen to learn
For teaching is a passion, a mission from the heart
The dedicated staff therein have knowledge to impart
With patience, love and tenderness – this is the only way
This ethos has made Brantfield the place it is today
For teachers and support staff, whichever role they take
Have one determination – the finest school to make
And yes, they have succeeded to such a high degree
I know from my experience: I study here, you see!
And yes, I’ve made so many friends at work and at my play
I so look forward to coming here every single day
So thank you, Brantfield Nursery School: thank you for all you do
And here’s another thank you – thank you for being YOU!
