To mark the 200th anniversary of The Westmorland Gazette in 2018, we are publishing a photograph from our archives on our website every day this year.
Today's photograph shows a view of Martindale Valley, at Ullswater in 1951. At the time, objections were heard at a meeting at Pooley Bridge to discuss the proposed placing of an overhead electricity cable in the area.
