THE A683 between Kirkby Lonsdale and J34 of the M6 at Lancaster is to be made safer with the introduction of speed cameras along its entire length as part of a £7.9 million package of measures to improve road safety on five Lancashire routes. A report to Lancashire County Council’s cabinet said £3.1m is to be spent on the road including 3.5 kilometres of safety barriers, widening the footway over Hornby Bridge and upgrades to signs and lines.
