IT was a happy year for A Level results at Craven College, where the pass rate was 100 per cent.
Principal Robert Bellfield said: “Every year I am so proud of how hard our students work. It is particularly pleasing to see the students achieve the A Level and BTEC grades they need for the next stage in their lives, whether a university course or apprenticeship.
"I would also like to pay tribute to the teaching staff who have supported and inspired these young adults.”
Richard Johnson, student governor and mature student from Sutton in Craven achieved Biology A, Chemistry B, and Psychology B. He will now take up his place to study Biology at Manchester University. After visiting Manchester, Richard knew it was the university he wanted to attend "as it just felt right." Richard said that he benefitted from the supportive environment in college which had allowed him to achieve his life goal.
Lucy Goodfellow, of Skipton, and former Skipton Girls’ High School student and President of the Craven College Student Union has achieved AS Levels in Geography (A), Media (B) and Psychology (C). She said she had gone to the college for a change from the strictures of the school environment and had found "happiness."
