THE family of a woman who died following a road traffic collision on the A66 have paid tribute to her life.

Ann Copley, aged 76, of Montgomery Court, Carlisle, died following a collision between a Citroen C3 and a white Renault Master on August 14.

Her family said: “Ann was a much loved mum of Penny, Vicky and Amanda. She adored her grandchildren Connor, Caleb, Colby and her mini me Honey. Ann was widowed 12 years ago by her beloved Colin. Now at 76 years-old most would want the quiet life, however Ann was full of joy and was the life and soul being very active in looking after the grandchildren and joining us all when we went out on a regular basis, most recently to York and Carlisle races.

“She will be missed dearly by the family and her much loved friends Anne and Ray who she spoke with daily. Our Mum has dedicated her life to helping Penny bring up her children Colby and Honey, her loss is unbearable and our hearts are broken.

“The family are devastated and want anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward if you haven’t already.

“Also we would like to thank everyone involved from the first person on the scene through to the emergency services and PC Tom Davies for giving mum some dignity in her final moments.”
