A TRAIN journey from Bentham to Morecambe for afternoon tea at The Midland hotel was enjoyed by a party of people with dementia.
The day out was arranged by the Leeds-Morecambe Community Rail Partnership, with support from train operator Northern.
Invited along were friends who meet each Monday for an art group at Looking Studios in Bentham, accompanied by their carers and supporters from the group.
The art club is run by Pioneer Projects, which provides creative arts activities to help improve health and wellbeing.
Organisers said the trip proved to be "a reminder of yesteryear for many", with pleasant memories rekindled.
Philippa Troutman, training and creative arts manager at Pioneer Projects said: "The staff and volunteers of the railway could not have been more helpful. Thank you to everyone for making it possible."
